"TOO SMALL FOR GOD?"
Recently, a child shared a burden with his mother and she encouraged him to give it to the Lord. The reply was, "Isn't that too small to bring before God". To the child, God was so awesome, so important, so great and powerful, that surely this little matter could be of little concern to Him. To the great encouragement of the child, Peter's words were explained: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you"-I Peter 5:7. They were explained like this.
First, the word "all" was explained: "My child, every one of us struggle with the same feelings as you have. We all have difficulty believing that Jesus cares for all of the troubles of all of His people. It seems too much for any One person to know or handle. Yet, we must see Him as God. Each of us need to approach Him as the only child He knows or cares for. Not only that, but we must always remember that the word 'all' is inclusive. It is a blanket that covers all distractions of the soul: small, medium, large, cares about life, death, money, relationships, cares about the past, the future, things that seem impossible to fix, things that embarrass us, things we are ashamed of, things that can not be changed in this life, there is no category that the word all does not include.
Remember, 'your care' is a personal promise that explains our one on one relationship with Him. It means that even though many cares are common to all, every individual is different and important to the Lord and so are their own specific cares. It is not the size of the care, whether little or great, that concerns the Lord, it is the person, the object of His affection. All cares are the same size to God, whether moving mountains or the ghostly fears of the mind. Though it is true that as a child, you do not carry the burdens of the president or a king. You are not expected to. Your care is proportional to your own station in life and to their Lord they are just as enormous and important.
'He careth for you' are the greatest words of comfort that a child may know. I am sure they were recorded for the encouragement of every believer who comes to know them, even for you today.
'Casting' is another wonderful truth. It means to throw something heavy into the hands of one who is stronger and able to carry the load with ease. We must trust Him with it or we will never give it to Him. His joy is when one of His children casts their weight of care into His hands. That requires faith. You have done all that the Lord expects you to do about the matter so cast you care upon Him. It is not too small for the Lord. He cares for you. That is how He measures the size. Nothing is either too big or too small for the Lord."
